Rate of people in age group 65 years or older living at institutions and service housing. Counted on a specified month of the year. The calculation of rate is done using the population 65 years and older in any case. Relevant age groups and reference date specified in country-note.

Age group used for counting: people aged 65 or older. Reference date: data are based on six questionnaires that were collected from municipalities once a year, in April, until 2022. From 2023 onwards, data are no longer collected. Other comments: includes residents in nursing homes, protected dwellings, and nursing dwellings for elderly persons.

Finland

The age groups are: 65–74, 75–79, 80– years
Reference date: 31 December

Reference date is: Permanent residence in institutions October 1 or serviced housing October 31
